After witnessing firsthand how overlooked, fearful, and misunderstood our own dogs felt in traditional grooming settings, we knew there had to be a gentler way.
So we created it.
Here, grooming isn’t rushed or routine — it’s a nurturing experience designed around safety, trust, and comfort. We’re here for the anxious pups, the misunderstood seniors, the dogs who’ve “been through it,” and the parents who want someone who truly gets it. Because we do.

Hi, I’m Marlen Perez Perez — founder, groomer, and proud schnauzer mom. The Schnauzy Spaw was born from a place of love, after years of feeling unheard in traditional grooming spaces. I know what it feels like to hand your dog over and walk away with a knot in your stomach. That’s why I created something different — a quiet, cage-free grooming experience rooted in patience, presence, and trust.
At The Schnauzy Spaw, I treat every dog like my own. There’s no noisy chaos, no rushing, no rotating staff — just one-on-one grooming with gentle hands, a calm atmosphere, and a heart that truly listens.
My Mission: To offer more than just grooming — to create a safe, loving space where dogs are honored, pet parents are heard, and peace of mind comes standard.
Whether your dog is anxious, aging, recovering from trauma, or just in need of a slower pace, I’ll meet them with the care and respect they deserve. Here, every appointment is personal. Every dog is known by name. And every detail — from soft towels to slow introductions — is chosen with intention.

What makes The Schnauzy Spaw different from other groomers?
We’re a spa, cage-free grooming experience focused on your dog’s comfort and emotional well-being. Every pup is groomed one-on-one, with no rushing, no crates, and no chaos. It’s not just grooming — it’s a personalized spaw day tailored to your dog’s needs.
Do you use cages or crate drying?
Never. We are proudly 100% cage-free. Your dog will never be placed in a crate before, during, or after their appointment. Each grooming session is start-to-finish with full attention, calm energy, and gentle handling.
Where are services offered?
We offer a hybrid model:
- At our calm, private grooming space in Carson.
- On-location at select luxury residential buildings with dog spaw facilities (Note: A $35 Luxury Location Fee applies for in-building services).
How long does a grooming session take?
Because we groom one-on-one and never rush the process, timing varies based on your dog’s size, coat condition, and behavior. Most sessions take between 1.5 and 3 hours. We’ll always communicate clearly and give you an estimate at drop-off or booking.
How do I book an appointment?
All appointments must be requested through our website. Simply fill out the appointment request form with your preferred date and time, and we’ll reach out to confirm availability. Once confirmed, you’ll receive all the details to secure your spot, including a $30 deposit applied toward your final total.
Do you offer any specialty treatments?
Yes! Our Pawsh Add-On Spaw Treatments let you personalize your dog’s grooming with extras like deshedding, medicated soaks, teeth cleaning, deodorizing baths, and paw balm.
Are your prices fixed?
All prices listed are starting prices. Final cost may vary based on your dog’s size, coat condition (including tangles or mats), behavior, and the time needed to provide a calm, safe, and complete service.
What is your cancellation or no-show policy?
- A $30 deposit is required to book and goes toward your total.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will forfeit the deposit.
- No-shows will be charged 100% of the scheduled service.
- Repeat no-shows may lose booking privileges.
- A valid card on file is required to secure your booking.
- Payment is due at pick-up and can be made via cash, debit/credit, Zelle, or Apple Pay.
